Inidi Leisure in conversation with Sri UK Magazine

Q: What motivated you to enter the leisure sector?
I presented one of the most popular travel programs in Sri Lanka and had the opportunity to visit over 100 hotels and villas. There were hardly any villas that provided any luxury offering. It is therefore an extension of the experience I gained while presenting the program. My husband had a good understanding of the market and the operations. Collectively we decided to build our own villas to cater for the most discerning visitors. In addition we wanted to make a contribution to regenerate the local fishing community.

Q: How long has ‘Inidileisure’ been in business?
We launched our villas just before the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka. Then there was the Covid lockdown. Given these setbacks we re-launch in May 2022. Even within the short period that we’ve been in business we have received 5-star TripAdvisor reviews.

Q: How many villas are there at present?
There are two four-bedroom villas with air conditioning, cool white and turquoise décor, and king size beds. Each villa accommodates 8 people, with 4 pristine clean bathrooms in each. Graced by a cooling ocean breeze, each holiday home has an inviting infinity swimming pool with a kids pool. Sunbeds with umbrellas help you to dry off and relax in the sunshine afterwards.

Q: Are there any plans to expand the business?
We are looking into expanding our business and build a boutique hotel with a beach restaurant. Our aim is to improve the local tourism by investing in leisure facilities.

Q:  For the readers who are hearing about ‘Inidi Leisure’ for the first time, please tell us where the villas are located?
They are located in Wadduwa which is within easy reach of the capital, Colombo. Wadduwa is a small seaside town, located on the southwestern shores of Sri Lanka. This area is a very popular destination for high end overseas visitors and the locals.

Q:  Does the local town provide any restaurants, bars, provisions, etc
Our chefs will prepare you whatever you desire. Fresh fruit and juices, tempting Sri Lankan and international dishes, it can all be prepared for you by the chef in a separate service kitchen…and each villa also has a well-equipped kitchen for you if you prefer the self-catering option. If you want to try something different, within 5 minutes’ drive you could get to Panadura town centre. Here you could find great choice of restaurants including number of international fast-food outlets.

Q: What is included in the fixed price?
If there is anything you need during your stay, attentive professionally trained staff, including a butler, are available to meet your requirements; daily housekeeping means you won’t have to lift a finger. Unsurprisingly, visitors frequently describe these delightful buildings as the best Sri Lankan villas on the market.

Q:  Do you have a ‘check-in’ and ‘check-out’ time as in hotels?
We are flexible with check-in and check-out time as long as the guests get to spend a full day at the villa and not interrupting incoming guests. Our standard check-in time is after 2pm and checkout time is midday.

Q:  Is ‘Inidileisure’ registered with any 4,5 star travel agents?
We are registered with number of high-end tour operators and online travel agents. If you want to explore our villas the best way to get in touch is through email or by phone. We are offering special rates to Sri Lankans. Please visit our website www.inidileisure.com for more details.

Q:  Do the villas have direct access to the beach?
They are literally on the beach just few feet away. You could hear the gentle sound of waves lapping on the beach to the bedrooms.

Q:  Are there any excursions available to your guests?
For guests who love combining activity with leisure, there are numerous excursions to invigorate you, even helicopter rides. There is an abundance of water sports, cycling, observing the birdlife, watching the whales, yoga, river safaris, Sri Lankan speciality massage, cycling, fishing, exploring the island history, and more. All are provided by reputable local operators.

Boutique Villas in Sri Lanka, a holiday dream

When looking for luxury beachside villas in Sri Lanka, it can take hours of searching to find somewhere quiet, yet not so secluded that you feel isolated.

Trying to locate somewhere where you can take all the family – and the extended family want to come too – can be a frantic and often fruitless task. You soon realise there appear to be few low budget villas in Sri Lanka that have high quality facilities. On top of that there is nowhere large enough to accommodate everyone. Searching for somewhere which is elegant with all the top amenities you expect, yet not so expensive that you are left reeling in debt for 12 months afterwards, seems to be impossible.

Stop for a minute, imagine breathing in the clear fresh air, with the taste of the sea just a few feet away. Think of all the water sports you can’t wait to do, the sumptuous Sri Lankan food and the reviving warmth of the sun.

Within reach of the capital, Colombo, and listed in the top 10 villas in Sri Lanka are two of the most stunning properties you will find. Nestled side by side, within yards of the Indian Ocean, are Villi Inidi and Villa Dia. Each have 4 large bedrooms with ceiling fans, cool white and turquoise décor, and king size beds. Each villa accommodates 8 people, with 4 pristine clean bathrooms in each. Graced by a cooling ocean breeze, each holiday home has an inviting infinity swimming pool where the children can splash and play for hours…and the adults. Sunbeds with umbrellas help you to dry off and relax in the sunshine afterwards.

When hunger calls after all that exertion, just call up the chef. He or she will bring you whatever you desire. Fresh fruit and juices, tempting Sri Lankan and international dishes, it can all be prepared for you by the chef in a separate service kitchen…and each villa also has a well-equipped kitchen for you.

On the patio is an outdoor dining area and adjacent to the kitchen, there is a dining area which overlooks the swimming pool. In the quiet cool indoors, the living room has a home cinema, TV, and sound system.

If there is anything you need during your stay, attentive professionally trained staff, including a butler, are available to meet your requirements; daily housekeeping means you won’t have to lift a finger. Unsurprisingly, visitors frequently describe these delightful buildings as the best Sri Lankan villas on the market.

And if you still want to keep in touch with life back home, especially for businesspeople on a group city break, free wi-fi in each villa makes worldwide communication simple.
