Our story

Born from a realisation

Go beyond a luxury beach villa with discreet service and world-class amenities.

Having visited more than 100 hotels and villas across Sri Lanka, we found hardly any that offered true luxury. Our experience with a luxury villa operator in the UK had shown us that Sri Lanka could match the finest in Europe, so we built Inidi on the sandy south-west coast at Wadduwa, for short escapes and longer stays alike.

Inidi stands for exclusivity, privacy and personal service. We believe true luxury lies in the details: generous, beautifully designed spaces, home-cooked meals made with the finest local ingredients, and a team that knows your preferences without being asked. Each evening, a small gift awaits in your room.

From the start, we also set out to support our community by regenerating the local area and creating employment. Above all, we want every guest to leave feeling that our team works a little magic.

The architecture

Shaped by the Waves

Inspired by the individual charm of Sri Lankan architecture, each villa is built from lightweight, custom-made earthy blocks that lend a distinctive texture while respecting the natural environment. At its heart, an open courtyard draws in the tropics, catching cooling breezes while bathed in warm sunlight.

Expanses of glass, a sculpted roof and soaring ceilings fill every room with an uplifting sense of light and space. Sculpted in the form of a wave and raised gracefully above the ground, the villas appear to float upon the shore, a serene retreat for complete relaxation.

Open courtyards invite the tropical outdoors into the heart of each villa. They catch the cool sea breeze and fill the spaces with warm sunlight, and a graceful tree adds a touch of natural shade.
